JOB SUMMARY
The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for a full-time position of Head Women’s Tennis Coach.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This individual will be responsible for all aspects of a Division I Women’s Tennis program including coordinating recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes; development of the student-athlete; game preparation; supporting the academic staff to ensure academic success of team members; assist with marketing and community involvement; budget management; and other administrative duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or sport supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree; five years of collegiate and/or elite tennis coaching experience in a full-time position; demonstrated ability to operate a successful program within NCAA and conference regulations; commitment to the academic success of student-athletes; ability to teach/communicate effectively; demonstrated experience and success in recruiting, talent identification and talent development of qualified student-athletes; strong commitment to the academic goals of the University; and outstanding organizational, communication, relationship building, and public relations skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three or more years of Division I collegiate coaching experience as a head coach (within the past five years) including demonstrated experience in the recruiting process of qualified student-athletes; knowledge of the policies, rules and regulations of the NCAA; and possesses coaching and student-athlete development philosophies consistent with that of the Division of Athletics.
