JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Director of Women’s Basketball Video Services.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As this position will be responsible for Women’s Basketball Video Operations and Analytics, the daily assignments and responsibilities will be provided by the Head Coach in conjunction with the entire women’s basketball coaching staff. Responsibilities include: coordinating all practice and game day operations (capturing, editing, and reproduction of video) within NCAA guidelines; travel with team to all away and postseason contests and events to manage video operations; coordination of securing video for scouting opponents; assembling and preparing basketball self, opponent, clinic, and highlight video; assisting with maintenance and technical problems related to equipment; assisting in management and operation of video equipment and components during women’s basketball events; work with coaching staff to share and instruct student-athletes through video analysis and analytics; and additional duties as may be assigned. This position will report to the Head Coach.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in media, sport management or a related field.
  • Three years of full-time experience in the field of sports video and/or analytics at an NCAA Division I athletic department.
  • Technical ability to produce a variety of high-quality video materials.
  • Demonstrated skill in operation and capability of video equipment and systems and ability to diagnose problems.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of video equipment and related software and the ability to perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  • Knowledge of software programs such as Hudl Sportscode Suite, Synergy, and Fast Model Suite.
  • Appropriate knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, student-athletes, and others.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of four total basketball seasons of demonstrated work experience in basketball video and/or analytics.
  • Experience at multiple NCAA Division I intercollegiate institutions.
  • Experience at the professional basketball level.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with equipment (Cameras, DV Sport at the scorer’s table and bench technology).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers (Mac) and the NOAH Shooting System.

This is a full-time position and requires evening and weekend hours as dictated by games, practices, and other events.
