DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for a full-time position of Director of Goalkeeping and Player Development. Responsibilities include: assisting the Head Men’s Ice Hockey Coach in planning and organizing all phases of a Division I men’s ice hockey program including coordinating recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes; development of the student-athlete; game preparation;  marketing and community involvement; and other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Ice Hockey Coach. 

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of three years (within the past 6 years) combined ice hockey coaching experience at the collegiate, USHL Juniors, and/or preparatory school level.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, and compliance standards as they relate to collegiate hockey programs.
  • Demonstrated track record of encouraging and supporting academic progress within an athletic program in alignment with the academic goals of the University.
  • Experience communicating with multiple stakeholder groups, including engagement with fans, families, or community partners, and representing a program in community engagement or public-facing events.
  • Experience organizing and supporting operations and administrative functions within an ice hockey program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Collegiate ice hockey playing experience.
  • Experience as a goalie coach at a Division I or USHL hockey program.
  • Hockey East experience (playing or coaching).
  • USA Hockey experience.
  • Possesses coaching and student-athlete development philosophies consistent with that of the Division of Athletics and its men’s ice hockey program.

This is a full-time position.
