DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Database Administrator 2
- Identifies and resolves system errors. Consults with application owners and functional users to resolve problems with platform and system performance problems.
- Assists technical staff in the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of database solutions and tools.
- Research and document procedures, techniques, or programs to analyze or improve the performance of software systems.
- Documents and performs software installations, patches, and upgrades.
- Works with Oracle support to identify and resolve issues.
- Writes scripts and/or programs to assist with database administration.
- Works with team and management to enhance and implement enterprise solutions.
- Works with technical and functional staff to design and develop systems integrations.
- Other duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Database Administrator 3
- Identifies and resolves system errors. Consult with application owners and guide teammates to resolve problems with platform and system performance problems.
- Creates procedures, and performs and trains technical staff in the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of database solutions and tools.
- Research and document procedures, techniques, or programs to analyze or improve the performance of software systems.
- Create, document, perform, and cross-train teammates on software installations, patches, and upgrade procedures.
- Works with Oracle support to identify and resolve issues.
- Writes scripts and/or programs to assist with database administration.
- Collaborate and guide teammates and management on enterprise solution implementation.
- Designs, plans, develops, configures, and implements solutions to ensure the high availability of services if a major disruption is caused by system issues or large-scale disasters.
- Works with technical and functional staff to design and develop systems integrations.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – Database Administrator 2
- Eight years of related experience; or an associate degree and six years of related experience; or a bachelor's degree and four years of related experience.
- Experience managing Oracle databases, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN and OEM installation, configuration, optimization, use, and best practices.
- Experience with security, performance, and capacity of databases.
- Experience with the design and implementation of database backup, recovery and failover tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – Database Administrator 3
- Ten years of related experience; or an associate degree and eight years of related experience; or a bachelor's degree and six years of related experience.
- Experience managing Oracle databases, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN and OEM installation, configuration, optimization, use, and best practices.
- Experience with security, performance, and capacity of databases.
- Experience with the design and implementation of database backup, recovery and failover tools.
- Experience with database theory and design.
- Experience with data encryption used in database technologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – Database Administrator 2
- Experience with Windows and Linux OS operating systems, specifically RedHat Linux.
- Experience with Exadata.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including the use of High Availability, failover, and witness servers.
- Knowledge of T-SQL and PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of other database systems such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB.
- Knowledge of data encryption used in database technologies.
- Knowledge of data analytics technologies and systems.
- Knowledge of database theory and design.
- Knowledge of ETL principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – Database Administrator 3
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including the use of High Availability, failover, and witness servers.
- Experience with Windows and Linux OS operating systems, specifically RedHat Linux.
- Experience with Exadata.
- Experience with encryption at all levels of the technology stack.
- Knowledge of T-SQL and PL/SQL.
