JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Programming and Career Everywhere in the Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills, the Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and administration of the UConn Talent Incubator initiative and related student career-readiness programming. 

The Coordinator supports implementation and day-to-day administration of the UConn Talent Incubator program, including coordination of project-based micro-learning opportunities, student engagement activities, communications, events, technology systems, and participant support. The position works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery and growth of the UConn Talent Incubator initiative.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports development and implementation of the UConn Talent Incubator initiative, including operational processes, student engagement, and partnership activities.
  • Partner with the Associate Director for Experiential Learning to provide administrative and operational support for the Opportunity Fund.
  • Coordinates day-to-day program operations, including scheduling, communications, project tracking, participant support, record maintenance, and preparation of reports and participation metrics.
  • Assists with student recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement for micro-learning, project-based learning, and micro-internship opportunities while providing guidance on program expectations, professional communication, and project timelines.
  • Supports employer, alumni, faculty, staff, and campus partner engagement efforts to expand and sustain a scalable portfolio of micro-learning opportunities across industries and disciplines.
  • Assists with intake, organization, coordination, and tracking of employer-sponsored projects and mentor participation, including workshops, networking events, presentations, and project showcase events. 
  • Partners with Assessment and Technology teams to support implementation and continuous improvement of program technology systems, student portfolio platforms, project tracking tools, and data collection processes. 
  • Develops and distributes program communications, marketing materials, presentations, and informational resources to support Career Everywhere and related university initiatives. 
  • Maintains awareness of trends in micro-learning, workforce readiness, employer engagement, and career development and may assist with supervision and training of student employees. 
  • Performs other related duties as required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree. 
  2. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in program coordination, student services, higher education, career services, event coordination, customer service, project coordination, or related disciplines. 
  3. Demonstrated business writing and editing skills as evidenced by application materials including resume and cover letter.
  4. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and virtual collaboration tools. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience supporting career-readiness, micro-learning, experiential learning, internship, employer engagement, or workforce development initiatives. 
  2. Experience coordinating events, workshops, employer engagement activities, or student programming initiatives. 
  3. Experience working with career management software, student engagement platforms, CRM systems, or portfolio management systems such as Handshake, Suitable, Blackboard, 12twenty, Salesforce, or related platforms. 
  4. Demonstrated evidence of successful experience supporting the unique needs of diverse populations. 
  5. Demonstrated ability to provide strong project oversight with a high level of attention to detail and a consistent record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. 

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, end-dated position expected to last up to 3 years with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and funding. The work may include occasional nights and weekends.
