JOB SUMMARY

The Pre and Post Award Support and Analysis Team (PPASA) at UConn seeks to fill an entry level position within Sponsored Program Services. Working under the supervision of a manger, this position performs pre- and post-awards administrative duties related to the management of research grants.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors compliance with guidelines from awarding agencies and maintains familiarity with terms and conditions associated with grants and awards.
  • Communicates financial information regarding grant accounts to faculty members, including remaining balances, anticipated payroll expenses, and incoming funding.
  • Analyzes and verifies transactions related to grants and contracts accounts such as invoices, travel, reimbursements, and requisitions.
  • Meets with faculty to explain services, communicate financial information, and assist with accounts as needed.
  • Corresponds with administrators from other institutions and federal sponsor contacts.
  • Participates in policy discussions and recommends policy or procedural changes as appropriate to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reviews and monitors effort reports to ensure accuracy, allowability, and timely certification in accordance with institutional and sponsor policies.
  • Assists with institutional responses to federal, state, and internal audits.
  • Proposes and assists with process improvements by identifying recurring issues or bottlenecks related to assigned duties.
  • Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  2. One (1) year of related experience.
  3. Experience using Microsoft Office and related software applications.
  4. Demonstrated experience running reports from a system, software, or database.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with financial regulations used in State of Connecticut agencies. 
  2. Demonstrated experience with policies used in sponsored program activities. 
  3. Experience running reports, including ensuring data quality and providing analysis.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a permanent, full-time position, with a schedule of 35 hours per week, based on the main campus in Storrs, Connecticut.
