JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for the full-time position of Video & Scouting Coordinator for Men’s Basketball.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include: assisting the Head and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coaches in a variety of operational duties in the area of video scouting and game preparation including: video analysis of opponent game film, development of analytics of player performance for the team and opponents; development of individual video player edits and analysis of performance tendencies. This position will also draft and organize recruiting materials; assist the Division of Athletics NCAA compliance staff and Men’s Basketball staff to monitor and remain current with necessary information; serve as a liaison to other Division of Athletics Departments, specifically Marketing and Video Services; assist and support the Head Men’s Basketball Coach in the organization and administration of all phases of a high major Division I program including practice and game preparation, scouting of opponents, and the evaluation and recruitment of prospective student-athletes; assist in monitoring academic progress and development of student-athletes; and other program duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree; 1-2 years of experience working in a Division I men’s basketball program; previous experience assisting in the coordination and organization of official and unofficial recruiting visits; an understanding of the correct application of NCAA regulations; and demonstrated organizational, communication and public relations skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree; basketball-related experiences focused on player development, video analysis and team scouting; demonstrated experience supporting coaches in practice and game plan preparation; proficiency in using DVSport; NCAA tournament experience; experience working with a Division I men's basketball program in the northeast region; and possesses coaching and student-athlete development philosophies consistent with that of the Division of Athletics and its men’s basketball program.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time position and requires weekend and evening hours as dictated by games, practices, and other events.
