JOB SUMMARY
The University of Connecticut is seeking applications and nominations for the full-time position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include: assisting the Director of Football Strength and Conditioning with the development and administration of the strength and conditioning programs for the UConn Football Program and other teams assigned by the Director of Football Strength and Conditioning; strict compliance with NCAA regulations and policies of the University; assistance with practice and game-day duties including pre-game/practice warm-ups; collaboration with Athletic Training staff as to the monitoring and rehabilitation of student-athletes with injuries; responsible for assisting with Catapult and other player load management systems, interpreting data and designing daily reports for staff; assistance with communication of strength program organization to prospective student-athletes and parents; and assist with supervisory responsibility of strength and conditioning interns.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree; Certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA); CPR/First Aid certification; demonstrated knowledge of the correct application of NCAA regulations; prior experience with teaching the power lifts, the Olympic lifts, and the various forms of periodization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree; Two years of full-time experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the collegiate level or experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the professional level; football Strength and Conditioning Coaching experience at an FBS Power 4 institution; has designed and implemented multiple sport speed development programs in the collegiate setting; previous experience using Catapult; possesses student-athlete development philosophies consistent with that of the Division of Athletics and its football program
APPOINTMENT TERMS
Salary will be commensurate with experience. This is an 11-month appointment subject to annual renewal.
