JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications for the full-time position of Assistant Track and Field Coach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will be primarily responsible for coaching student-athletes in the sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multi-events. The successful candidate will work closely with the coaching staff on a plan to successfully recruit prospective student-athletes and to develop current student-athletes both athletically and academically. Selected operational functions will be assigned, along with other duties, by the Director of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Three to five years of track and field experience in jumping events at the Division I level.
  3. Ability to assist the entire coaching staff in areas of Long Jump, Triple Jump, and High Jump.
  4. Ability to assist the entire coaching staff in recruiting future student-athletes on and off campus.
  5. Ability to assist the entire coaching staff in all aspects of home meet management.
  6. Proven knowledge and application of NCAA Rules and Regulations.
  7. Strong commitment to the academic goals of the University.
  8. Excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Power 5 Conference experience.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
