JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of Assistant Director of Housing Services, this role independently coordinates and provides specialized support to students and their constituents regarding housing assignments and housing related policies within the Department of Residential Life.

We offer our students an array of housing facilities and options to enhance their learning experience, including a variety of learning communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for central coordination of one or more housing assignment functions for the general student population including special interest groups.

  1. Maintain appropriate and accurate records and compile reports as needed or requested. Utilizes multiple computer programs for data entry, and compilation of detailed spreadsheets.
  2. Provide individual support and advice to students and their constituents as needed concerning housing assignments and housing related processes. This may include one on one discussion with students about their personal situations and roommate related issues.
  3. Serve as the first contact of students and parents in dealing with issues related to housing assignment concerns. Resolve these issues using sound judgment and creative decision making.
  4. Management of card access to all residential facilities.
  5. Consult and collaborate with other University departments and offices as needed.
  6. Serve as the primary reader and responder of the department email address and communicate with students and their constituents.
  7. Provides general office support, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and directing calls.
  8. Assists in producing informational and promotional materials.
  9. Writes and/or edits and disseminates informational, promotional, and occasional technical materials to support program activities.
  10. Serves as a resource to students, staff, faculty, and others on matters relating to administrative procedures and on some matters relating to housing.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills and experience working in customer service situations.
  • Experience managing complex and detailed projects/tasks.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity when working with diverse populations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience working at a higher education institution.
  • Experience working with Microsoft products.

This is a full-time, permanent position.
