The University of Connecticut School of Social Work seeks qualified applicants to be hired as a Senior Public Policy Analyst (Research Associate I), to be part of the Innovations Institute at the University of Connecticut’s School of Social Work. The position will be part of the School of Social Work’s growing portfolio of public policy, technical assistance, financing, and evaluation activities in partnership with local, state, and federal government agencies and organizations on behalf of children, youth, and families. Positions with Innovations Institute are fully remote, with expected travel to UConn’s Hartford Campus twice annually. Innovations Institute will be hiring up to two (2) candidates.

Quantum CT Evaluation Project Manager in UConn Storrs
The NSF Quantum Technologies Engine in Connecticut (QuantumCT Engine), led by the University of Connecticut, aims to advance American quantum innovation and secure the domestic quantum supply chain by accelerating the commercialization of quantum technologies for national defense, biotechnology, and financial services. Through innovation, applied research leading to new technologies, support for inventors and entrepreneurs and workforce development, the QuantumCT Engine will advance quantum sensing, secured communications, computing, and materials through shared test bed, deep-tech incubator, and translation pathways. The Evaluation Project Manager will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of all evaluation-related activities. They will also help manage evaluation meeting logistics and facilitation, implementation, data management and analyses, supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and evaluation dissemination and use activities. Job responsibilities cluster into five categories: project management and coordination, evaluation design, evaluation implementation and data analysis, reporting, and quality assurance. The Evaluation Project Manager will report to Dr. Bianca Montrosse-Moorhead, incoming Department Head and Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, and QuantumCT Engine External Evaluation Lead.

Reporting to the Director of Technology Incubation & Venture Development in Technology Commercialization Services, this position will oversee and support the operational and technical management of the quantum technology incubator. This includes overseeing the day-to-day technical operations, maintaining specialized infrastructure, and serving as a resource for startups, helping them navigate facility use, equipment training, and compliance with safety protocols. He/she will design protocols for lab and equipment usage, establish preventative maintenance schedules for mission-critical infrastructure, maintain compliance with relevant industry standards for quantum research environments, and be a liaison between Quantum CT startups and collaborators.
