JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Director of NIL Operations. This position will work with the Associate Athletic Director of Strategic Initiatives to support all efforts surrounding NIL, including identifying branding strategies for student-athletes to better help them understand their personal brand through NIL, with content and educational materials, as well as assisting with the management and execution of NIL opportunities for all student-athletes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the day-to-day operations and development of the athletic department’s NIL strategy, programming, and student-athlete initiatives.
  • Assist student-athletes with personal brand development, social media strategy, and NIL education opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with brands and local businesses to help facilitate NIL opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Learfield, corporate partners, licensing, and other affiliates on NIL projects.
  • Support recruiting efforts by communicating NIL resources and opportunities available to prospective student-athletes.
  • Assist the compliance office with managing NIL disclosures and tracking partnerships.
  • Main point of contact for all NIL-related events and operations.
  • Work with student-athletes (& their agents) on external third-party deals.
  • Work with athletic leadership on the execution of NIL deals that have been sold/committed.
  • Attend and lead all production calls with third-party rentals that are using our facilities/student-athletes in NIL deals.
  • Coordinate and track the obligations of all of our student-athletes related to their NIL deliverables.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management or related field.
  • At least 4 years of previous experience within an intercollegiate athletic department (within the past five years).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Name, Image & Likeness and its evolution in the college athletics space, including NIL policies in the collegiate landscape.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree.
  • 2-4 years of working experience in collegiate athletics, sports marketing, NIL, brand partnerships, or athlete development.
  • Division I athletics experience.
  • Previous experience or demonstrated knowledge of working with student-athlete representatives.
  • Possesses name, image and likeness philosophies consistent with that of the Division of Athletics and its NIL department.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, end-date position with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and funding. This position will require flexible and irregular hours. Relocation is not available.
